Assolutamente no!

 Once upon a time...
there was a little girl with big, bright, brown eyes, staring at the world around her with curious and dreaming look. She loved to play with animals and run into the woods, she loved her tiny house up on a mountain, and right there she had a drawer filled with sun glasses in every color and funny shape which she loved to wear. She had fun matching them with her bijoux, but she never, never allowed them to be in contrast with the tights she wore under the pleated skirt.
Her parents made lovely fun of the child, calling her "princess jewelry", but she wouldn't understand, she just laughed and got dressed like a little appearance in Sex & the City, which didn't exist yet.
Today that little child is 25 and that drawer is now filled with dreams, together with all the others in the dresser: a thousand and more dreams in every color of the rainbow and in each and every shade they can give. Some people see life in black and white, I even heard about fifty shades of grey in a very nagging way, I'd rather think that this thousand and more colors that we see every day are the most precious baggage to carry with us, just by taking them in our soul. Every color reminds me of something: a detail, a place, an object, a friend's face.

White, the color of my childhood: there she is, the little Mara, wearing her eco-friendly fur in fake white fox. She felt like a little princess with that coat and even if the other kids in the kindergarten made fun of her, she walked with her head straight, proud and self-confident, holding her owl-shaped plush, perfectly matched with the fur, some shivers in the arms but already a natural determination in her eyes. She sould never allow someone to let her down. She would eventually suffer or cry, she would do the wrong thing, but never let her ideas go.

Green, the color of my youth: the quietness of Tuscany hills in the summer is suddenly broken by a neigh and by the laughter of a team of young horse riders. So much happiness on those faces, framed by a helmet, always the best and always fashioned with the titanium supplement for Milan's team, a maroon polo with grey details, the colors of the stables and the green, white and red flag on the heart, embroidered together with the name of the horse. Skinny cream-colored pants, custom-made leather boots and no horsewhip in the hands: the harmony and the feeling between those guys and their horses were perfect. A never-ending dream which would lead them through Italy and, why not, through Europe and maybe the world, a dream crashed by reality, chances and growth: second star to the right and straight on 'til morning... unfortunately we didn't find Neverland, a beautiful fairytale's what's left, an amazing adventure ending on the streets of Milan.

Purple, the color of my education: a huge building ring-intended, grey like the mortar on the outside but filled with crazy colors on the inside. Everything in that school was "mucked up" by bright shades of acrylic, the smell of colors mixed up with tobacco and the alcohol of the marking drawing pens, a single step could mean the distance between the pure, natural beauty of real artists and the squalor of those meaningless serial characters who tried to deceive themselves like they were talented. Tellingly, rage is purple, and there's a lot of rage for Mara to contain while she imposes herself to be brave day by day, piling up every useful experience and making every useless one just slip on her. A barely contained rage becoming strength and self awareness. In the end she walks out that purple giant as a winner, the scratches on the surface are ready to heal, and what's been an actual fight thought her more than anything not to surrender to anything or anyone. She can breathe again and look for her place in the world.

Azure, the color of my present: the teenage Mara looks in the mirror and she's finally an adult. And azure is everything around her, she always carries a little with her, like in clothes, make up or accessories, it's her color, inevitable. Every day sees a new style and a different girl, only on the outside, and in every outfit, devoutly described in her fashion blog, she always manages to find a place, even tiny, for this color. Like a lucky star, a secret friend. There's a lot of azure inside of her too: the one of her mommy's eyes, the one of Jared Leto's hair, the one of the sea in the Azure Coast where she left with affection a little piece of herself. Everything that formed her has this shade, the color of the woman she is now, who knows that everywhere she'll go, she will always be followed by her passion, her art and, obviously, her camera. But she also knows that there is the azure of the sky, that sky where she can finally fly without any limits, because there's always new thing to learn and new ways to grow up.

Pink, the color of my future: as learned by any story, the happy ending can't be nothing other than pink. We hate them, despise them, make fun of them, but clichés are sometimes inevitable. Who said it is wrong to follow them? Mara learned that patience pays back, that true fights are always against yourself, that giving up is an announced defeat and that you only see true friends when you're in need. Are those clichés? Indeed they are. Does that make them unreliable? Absolutely not! Everyone dreams a fairytale ending, everyone with a little hope in the future wants the knight to defeat the dragon and marry the princess on call. And anyone who cheers for the villain is just telling lies to himself: the happy ending is everyone's ambition. In this fairytale there may not be a dragon, a castle, a realm to save and maybe, but there has to discuss about that, there may not even be a prince. But one thing is for sure: when Mara looks at her future, she wants it to be pink, with a giant "they lived happily ever after".

It's not a modern fairytale but real life, everyday life like the one each one of us has got, including that little child, me.
My name is Mara Nathalie, Red Head for my followers and I have a drawer full of dreams: I'd like to see the world, do the difference, I want to grow an Husky with big blue ice  eyes and I would like to make my beloved parents and my family proud of me. I want to do something I like, I want to go to sleep thinking "Yeah! Tomorrow's a new day!", not like Rossella O'Hara but like the magenta red headed girl, with wishes shared with many people, but who made them hers, painting them with strokes dipped in the palette or her world.
