Madeitmyself ~ boots.

Anni fa, come regalo di laurea ho ricevuto gli splendidi Pirate boots di Westwood, un paio di stivali che desideravo da tempi immemori. Nella boutique di Corso Venezia, Milano, ho provato i miei cuccioli: pellame di uno spettacolare color cuoio, davvero fantastici! Amore a prima vista; comprati e indossati più o meno ovunque. Ovviamente, però, nemmeno i Pirate boots sono immortali e nel corso del tempo hanno iniziato ad accusare i segni dell'usura: alcune macchie indelebili hanno solcato il bel color cuoio e, pur curandoli con dedizione durante le varie stagioni ( grasso di foca, lucido, etc. ), si sono, ahimé, rovinati in punta.

Che fare? Di buttarli non se ne parlava proprio: li adoravo e li adoro tutt'ora, non me ne separerei per nulla al mondo ( anche perchè, diciamolo, costicchiano i ragazzi! ). 

Ergo? Li ho tinti. Mi sono ispirata al Black che al momento dell'acquisto avevo visto in boutique, soprattutto perchè il nero copre davvero tutto! Armata quindi di colore, scotch di carta, panno specifico, lucidante per pelle nera, spazzole varie e, non di meno, di una sana dose di pazienza, i miei Pirate Boots sono rinati!

Sono felicissima di averli salvati: davvero ora potrò metterli ancora per molto tempo!

E voi? Avete mai stravolto il look delle vostre scarpe per coprire dei difetti, delle macchie o più semplicemente perchè vi avevano stancato?

Years ago, as a graduation gift I received the beautiful Westwood Pirateboots, a pair of boots that I desire for a very long time. In the beautiful settying of the Corso Venezia, Milan, boutique I tried my puppies in a spectacular tan-colored leather, really beautiful. Love at first sight, bought, worn more or less everywhere. Obviously, though, even the Pirate boots are immortal, and over time have begun to suffer the wear and tear: some indelible stains that streaked buff and even if I take very care of them them during the different seasons (seal fat, shiny,etc..) the tip unfortunately has ruined.

What to do? Not even speak of throw them away: I loved and still love them, I do not separate from them, for the entire world (because, frankly, they are a "little bit" expensive girls and boys).

And so? I've dyed. I dyed them inspired by the Black model also available in boutiques and, above all, because the black covers everything. Army of color, masking tape, cloth, specifically, black leather polish and brushes, and most of all, of a healthy dose of patience, my Pirate Boots are reborn!

I'm delighted to have them saved, really, for even now I can put a lot of time.
