On summer I could never visit the PACA region of France , Provence , Alpes and Côte d'Azur ( Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur ) as I would but in winter/ spring I often go to France , choose a random destination , get in the car and start the adventure ! A few weeks ago it was up to the village of Saint-Paul de Vence: if you want to reach it with satnav, search for " Saint Paul - Alpes "! At one point I gave up and started to follow the signs - in France they are a little ' everywhere , thankfully! - But then, a little fiddling' with the remote control , we found that the name was simply wrong inside the tomtom, not that it did not know him! That said, I spent a wonderful morning in this village perched on the French Maritime Alps. What amazed me most of the village, in addition to the impeccable cleanliness of its streets and breathtaking views where you will come across almost by accident just walking ( we are in fact quite high! ), Is the disproportionate amount of small art galleries hiding priceless treasures: paintings and sculptures of every kind and style! There's something for everyone's taste. Whenever I find myself in these spectacular villages, I realize that the time has stopped here: it is possible to cross a lady at the wash hall, arm in arm with his basket full of linens, come across wrought iron signs evidently handmade and looking at them you realize that they are older than you. More than a few decades . And then there are flashes of modern life that come to life here in the form of colorful murals that, I assure you, blend beautifully with the architecture and art of Saint-Paul de Vence and seem to want to scream: here live in harmony past, present and future!
